Will a stray cat that I fed and petted still remember me after a year?

Posted Monday January 6 2014, 1:30 am

I go to Russia every summer and last year I met this wonderful darling cat that I just fell in love with. It is a girl and she was pregnant when I met her. One day when I was walking with my mom the cat was meowing so I petted her for around five minutes and then I asked my mom if we could get her some food. We gave her food and she was very thankful! So then we ended up feeding her everyday. I begged my mom if we could bring her back home but she said no because it would be too expensive and we already have a cat but he's mean! So my question is, will she remember me? I even gave her a name! Kisa! And whenever I called her she came running even if she was all the way down on another block!! I miss her bunches and I want to know if she'll s...

The stray that stole my heart has been missing

Posted Monday December 30 2013, 12:48 am

About 4 years ago, I came across a stray cat fighting. I scared away the other cat and nursed his wounds. He was very grateful and started to come by my house almost every day. He had the cutest meow that kinda sounded like "Rroooww" sort of a roar haha. I love him to bits and even gave him a name, Tangy. He came to my call and loved on me. Problem is, I can't have him in the house because he might spray. The last time I saw him, I'd say he was maybe 8. He stopped coming by my house this year during late summer. I don't know if someone took him in or if he's dead. I constantly worry about him. Does anyone have an idea what might have happened to him?

sore on dog's back, healing tips?

Posted Saturday December 28 2013, 11:32 pm

My dog, a border collie, has a skin condition like large zits. The vet has said that they are nothing to worry about and to just leave them be. But my dog chewed at one until it popped open, so now its like an open hole. It was oozy so we cleaned it up, there was some pus in it that we drained out. We washed it with a seasalt and water solution and dried it and put some bag balm on it. I grew up on a farm and bag balm has always seemed to work for minor animal cuts and abrasions and such but since its more of a hole I was wondering if there is anything else I should ( or shouldn't) be doing for her? It doesn't seem to bother her, and she hasn't chewed at it since she popped it. she will fidget a little when we clean it out, but that's about it.

Thanks.

Conflicting behavior?

Posted Thursday December 5 2013, 1:28 pm

My dog is displaying conflicting behaviors. She growls sometimes when I feed her, but she has gone a long way to getting use to me handling her food. I fed her piece by piece so she's 90% use to me touching her food bowl now. She will growl at my girlfriend when she tries to touch her food bowl and I told her to do the same thing as I. Once we take the food bowl away she completely submits though, like she knows she did wrong, but couldn't help it. She will come to us with her lowered head and lower body and tail down and will put her head in between our legs. Today my girlfriend told her to sit and jump up before giving her a piece of treat ,which she ate and walked away, but when my girlfriend pet her she growled and barked. My girlfriend...

Where can I look online for ferrets for sale in my area?

Posted Wednesday November 27 2013, 7:26 pm

Where can I look online for ferrets for sale in my area? I live in Warren County, NJ. I'm specifically looking for a male white ferret but I'm pretty lost on how to go about looking for one online because I've never really done that before.

I've been browsing Craigslist but I'm a little hesitant to use that because of it's bad rep and because I'm unfamiliar with it. And I'm not searching the correct works in google because my searches gives me nothing that help me.

Thank you!

New pet owner

Posted Thursday October 31 2013, 8:39 am

Hi there,
I just recently got an 11 mo. Golden retriever/spitz mix and I am still learning a lot. I have done my research and will be looking to get her a trainer for some possible behavioral problems. She barks every time she sees a dog or person. Her bark gets louder when she especially sees kids and dogs. I think she was bitten by a dog before because there was this huge scab on her tail and the foster mother said that the people that gave her away had kids who bopped her on the nose, so she doesn't like kids either. I have desensitized her from the noise around us, and she doesn't bark as often as she use to when we first brought her to our apartment. I kept treating her every time I noticed that she heard a noise and didn't bar...

Names for a female black cat

Posted Tuesday October 29 2013, 9:26 am

I wasn't really sure what category to put this in, but I guess it's kind of a pet question...
So, I've decided to write a story about a homeless black cat (I have a black cat, so she inspired me), but I don't know what to name her. The name is probably going to be the title, so I need something that really stands out. In other words, I need a name for a female black cat (And please, nothing like 'cutie' or 'brownie' or anything like that) that sounds kind of sweet and simple. Thank you!

my cat?

My year old cat has started lounging in her litter box. I walk into my room and she's sitting in or laying down in her own filth and obviously she doesn't really understand. Anyone know why she is doing this?

Rescue dog health problems

Posted Monday October 21 2013, 11:24 pm

My girlfriend and I just got a rescue dog and we've noticed that her breathing is a lot faster than normal. We've had her for three days so far and will be scheduling a vet visit soon. It seems like she's taking shorter and faster breathes. I wonder if she could be stressed or is it something else? This didn't really happen until after we took her out for a car ride. Sometimes it lasts a while after a dog walk, but I think in that situation it's just because she's tired. Her heart rate seems normal. What are some reasons why she could be breathing fast? Fall is coming soon and it is getting colder so I don' think the weather is an issue. She is a golden retriever mix with maybe a spitz breed, very small for her breed. She's 40 lbs, and she ...

Vet charges

Posted Tuesday October 15 2013, 1:38 am

Hi,
A few weeks ago we adopted a puppy and had him for 2 days before he passed away. He apparently wasn't doing well in the shelter either, but we thought it was just because he was afraid of the loud noises. By the second night, he was in critical condition and we made the decision to euthanize him since the vet said that the chances of him surviving was less than 50% chance and she couldn't promise us that he would even wake up even if they had pulled off a successive treatment and even if they did all they could to save his life. My girlfriend's mother called to try to get us our money back because our vet bill ended up to $600. She spoke to the office manager and the office manager said that they shouldn't have charged us for bo...

New 5 month old puppy

Posted Thursday October 10 2013, 8:23 am

My family has had a male terrier that's 2 years old, and we just got a new female terrier puppy that's 5 months old. They play together outside but when it comes down to it my 2 year old is very jealous, when she tries to follow him or lay down with him he immediately gets up and walks away. It's really sad and my family doesn't know what to do!

Cat may have gotten stung by a bee in his mouth...

Posted Sunday September 29 2013, 2:51 pm

So, today my 7-month-old cat, Jimmy, was trying to catch a wasp near our window, and he got it in his mouth, but then spit it back out. We think it might have stung him. Is this something that we should talk to the vet about? Is it no big deal? Could he be allergic? Please help us!
Thank you!

German Shepard or Lab

Posted Friday September 27 2013, 1:13 pm

18/m

Hello! I was looking for some extra information on either getting a German Shepard or a Lab.

I won't be getting a dog till after college when I am able to afford it and take care of it the way it needs to be. Was just trying to get information on them so I can do my research for my decision in a few years.

I love German Shepard and Labs.

I guess my question is...

Which one is more suitable for an average American? Based on my low income out of college I want to know which one would be better to take care of and to give proper things in it's life.

Thanks!

Is puppy love legal??

Posted Thursday July 18 2013, 12:44 pm

I live in Florida and I have become increasingly aroused by my dog. I have let him lick me a couple of times and really enjoyed it.

The other day my bff found out and told me it is disgusting and I could go to jail. First off, it is all over the internet and many people enjoy the company of animals. Gayness is disgusting to some, but makes others happy. Same applies here. What concerns me is that it may be illegal. I have searched and searched but have found conflicting results. I really enjoy what I am doing and don't want to stop. Please Help. Is it legal in Florida? Thanks XoXo
