Money Trouble

Posted Thursday June 19 2014, 3:30 pm

About 2 months ago my family found out my sister was allergic to our pet parakeets because they had pet dander. We had to give them away and I'm still grieving. But my mom said I could get another pet, but without can't be a dog or cat and it can't have pet dander. I found one amazing animal that is not only cute and doesn't have pet dander, they also act like a dog/cat. Just so you know, it's a fennec fox. You are allowed to have them as pets in my state so they are not illegal. They can be mean but also really nice. We would need 2 because both of our parents work and my sister and I have to go to school. So if we get 2, they won't be lonely or depressed. But there is one small problem. Okay I lied it's a big problem. One fennec fox cost ...

Flemish Giant Rabbits

Posted Thursday June 19 2014, 7:46 am

15, Female, USA

I really want a Flemish Giant rabbit. My mom said I could if I can train it to use a litter box or something of the sort.

I've always wanted a rabbit and this is the only breed I could convince my parents to get(since we have cats and my sibling past experiences with rabbits weren't the greatest).

It would stay in my relatively large bedroom, I don't think it would be in a cage unless it was needed.

In short my questions are: Can you litter train a Flemish Giant Rabbit?
Will having cat's and dogs be a problem?
Can I let it stay in my bedroom without a cage?

ANY info on these matters, or anything
(literally anything) else you kno...

What will happen to us b/c of the dog?

Posted Friday June 6 2014, 2:40 pm

My brother is currently in jail. He left us with his dog. A 7 yr. old jack russell terrier. Recently, he bit someone and was taken in by animal control for days. My mom was given a fine, which she already paid for, and ordered to appear in court. Since then we have been tying him to the porch, but day he suck out while people were coming in and out of the house. I didn’t know the dog was outside until he came back to the house, starching at the door. Someone called animal control and they came. The man gave me a citation and order to appear in court. Does anyone know what might happen to me and my mother? Are we only going to fine or something else and do you know how much it might be? By the way we live in Georgia. I tried looking up ...

very young baby kitten

Posted Wednesday May 14 2014, 3:20 am

My friend found a baby kitten at her work and I ended up taking it because she couldn't. It looks about no more than 2 weeks. It can bearly hold its head up and shakes when it walks, its eyes are fully open and it fits in the palm of your hand. I have a bottle for it and it takes a few drinks then pushes away. How do you know how much to feed it? Do you know exactly how old it i? Do you know what I need to do for a kitten this young? Please help!!!

Matted hair on cat

Posted Monday May 12 2014, 7:20 pm

My cat is overweight and is having issues cleaning herself, mostly her back. I've taken to giving her baths every few months. It's hard though, considering shit doesn't like me and struggles a lot which leaves me sore afterwords. The sat time I gave her a bath a few days later I noticed matted hair. I assumed she rolled into something and planned to get it out with a bath but I've been busy and haven't been able to. It's a few months later and the matting has grown to more clumps, so I'm guessing it's not her rolls in something. These clumps are thick. My dad and I just finished cutting the clumps off as much as we could, but the 'root' is still there and seems nearly impenetrable. How could we get this out without going somewhere? I'd rath...

Annoying kids

Posted Sunday April 20 2014, 7:00 pm

My dog is reactive towards people running. Today I took my dog out to use the bathroom and I saw a kid running down the sidewalks. When my dog saw him she barked and lunged at him and he turned around and barked right back at her. Before he crossed her path I told him to slow down because I know she is reactive towards running and he slowed down but still kept going. Then he turned around and taunted her and he came closer to her. I've had her since she was 10 months and haven't had a bite incident, but if he taunts her again I don't know what will happen. I've taken her to a professional reactive dog class, and there were no results. (I live in an apartment complex)

One or two kittens?

Posted Sunday April 13 2014, 8:34 pm

I'm adopting a black domestic short-hair kitten from a nearby rescue, and I was wondering if I should get one or two of them. We have two kids who should be mature enough to care for a pet, and a medium-sized house. I'm a stay-at-home parent, so the kitten(s) wouldn't be alone too much. We already have a kitten picked out (short black fur with a white patch on her neck), and are planning to name her Kia. So, now we just need to decide if we should get a second kitten. There are five other kittens in the litter (two black boy kittens, two black girl kittens, and a white girl), who all seem to have pretty good bonds with each other. So, should we get another kitten? (We are well aware of the costs of having a cat) If yes, which one should we ...
