Q: I made an account a long time ago and I tried signing on again. I don't remember my password do i clicked "lost password" link and I had to type in my email address. After that, I got an email and received my new temporary password. I tried logging in with my new password, but it wont let me log in. It still says INVALID USERNAME/ PASSWORD. Can you help me?

Q: A site user asked for my advice but requested that the question be deleted as soon as possible because he feared that his friend would see it. Because he was so uncomfortable, I told him in my response to delete the question off his account as soon as possible and that I would change my user settings to not reflect questions that had been deleted by the person asking. I changed my user settings and he deleted the question... But the question still shows up on my advice column. When I checked the status of my questions it says that the question has been deleted, but it still shows up on my column, even when I log out. Do I have to wait a certain amount of time or is this a technical issue that can only be solved my tech support. Thanks for your time. :)

Hello there,

Questions are never truly deleted unless they are stupid or abusive. At that point they are sent via abuse report and a moderator can delete them by hand.

The don't show deleted questions thing is a leftover from the previous site admin that will be removed when I get a chance. (Thanks for reminding me!)

I went ahead and deleted the questions (he asked it to multiple users.)

Q: hi! so I tried to give advice to this girl, and she gave me a two and wrote me back calling me "a bitch." then I suddenly got a question that asked me: "wow, you give bad advice, how do you feel about that?" in my inbox. I am not sure if they are connected, but I rejected the inbox question, and I was wondering if you could please delete the question I answered. Q: When people ask for advice ive been noticing that the whole story doesnt come up like they leave some important details out. It would be alot easyer if the people giving advice actually knew the whole story. Some people give good advice but it doesnt work out in the end for the person asking for it because he/she left out something. thanks for reading

Q: I asked a question, then later I clicked "search questions" to verify that is listed im my catagory. It should have been listed in the Love Life catagory. (I asked the question a few days ago... it should have been approved by now.) It's not there, and I did look back far enough in time.

When I click "my questions", it is there, but in the box where it says "asked to" it has my own username. I dont want to ask the question to myself! I want it posted for others to read! Im confused, please help!

Try clicking the "Get Advice" link at the top of the page, as opposed to the ask a question link on your advice column. The link at the top asks everyone, and the link on your column page only asks you.

I converted your questions to public ones, but in the future please ask to the public for best results. :)

There are two places to put an e-mail when you fill out your profile information.

One is your private e-mail address, and one is posted publicly on your column.

You had your e-mail posted publicly. In one question you asked to someone, you also posted your e-mail. I have deleted that question.

Now, as soon as google indexes the site again, those will no longer show up.

When you have read this, I will delete this question too so your e-mail address doesn't show up yet again.

You should be able to, I can't find anything wrong with your account.

Perhaps you wrote this before you verified your e-mail address by clicking that link that was e-mailed to you?

Q: I just noticed this and I'm not sure how long it's been wrong or if you know, but the questions are a day off. When they should say Sunday, September 9th, they say Saturday, September 8th. The date for additional info is right though...

I am afraid there in absolutely nothing wrong with the site, just the users.

People aren't answering enough questions, so there is a backlog exceeding 24 hours now.

I am going to spend today trying to answer as many as I can and hope other people follow suit.

This should resolve once people get back to the normal school routine.

This advice column is for suggestions, comments, or error reporting about advicenators. If you'd like to suggest a new category, ask me a question. If you'd like to whine, bitch, or complain about advicenators, you may whine, bitch, or complain to me.

Three rules though:
1) Do not ask me for life advice. We have several thousand other members that do that.

2) Do not ask for help, or ask how to do something, or ask about
how something on the site works, unless you've read every word of our help pages and you're sure it's not addressed there.

3) Do not ask me to ban someone or investigate abuse. We have an entire abuse system set up for that.

If you disobey one of these rules, I'll delete your question.

Some guidelines about suggestions:
If you offer a suggestion that I find interesting, I might just ignore your question so it stays in my inbox as a reminder of something to do. Don't be upset that I don't answer you, and don't delete your questions (because then I'll forget!)

If you have three suggestions, please ask three separate questions, that way I can address each one individually. It's a real pain when people ask one question with like twenty different topics in it; I can't keep them straight.
