Q: I set up an account, about year ago. I really enjoyed this site, I posted a lot, I guess. For the short amount of time I had access. A year later we Just got internet services where I live but cannot remember my password for the life of me. ANyway, I would really like to get back to posting and chatting. Would like to see who is still here. Unfortunately, the e-mail address that I signed up under is not active anymore. So having the new password e-mailed was a bust. Can you suggest something? I do not see the link for customer, or user support. BUT I may be overlooking it too.

my suggestion aws that there should be a forum for everyone.

Moderators are not paid users, and ALL users have personal forums.

A general forum may happen in the future, but not without more activity in the moderator forum. Check the bottom of the current site news if you would like to have a say in what goes on around here by becoming a moderator.

There really is no on-site way for columnists to communicate with one another.

There are forums, actually.

There is an admin forum, a moderator forum and a supporter forum.

Every user also has a personal forum, though it is still beta.

If you would like to suggest more, please find your way into the moderator forum which is where we discus ideas for the site.

Its about my idea for 2011 sunglasses. I deleted the question but it still shows up in the google search engine, including the images! I can't delete the images because I used tinypic, and I only uploaded them here, so please can you get them off google! I dont want my idea to be ripped off. Thanks!

The question was removed. I have no control over Google. It will stop showing up there sometime in the next six months.

You need to write tinypic about getting your images removed.

As for anyone stealing it... Don't worry. If you started lining up someone to produce them now, they probably wouldn't be in the stores in time unless you have some industry connections.

If you can find a company to buy the idea you would be better off.

Q: I'm being rated by other columnists but the number of times i'm rated and my average rating isn't going up it's been stuck at the same thing for a while now is there something wrong?

Please read this section of the FAQ and pay special attention to the one that says:

"I really want to see my rating calculated right now."

... if you see the math there and it still doesn't add up, please let me know.

We get this question a lot, hence the reason for the FAQ entry, so don't feel bad.

You will have a 5 roll off your current ratings and the 2 that is bringing you down will still be there. So you get rated with another 5 and nothing changes. That is simply because the average, as calculated, is still the same.

Paid accounts are given to people who donate $10 via paypal to help pay for running the site.

Paid account doesn't mean you get get paid.

Absolutely.

The questions and answers that do not personally identify you will be archived into the orphan's account when your column is deleted.

This keeps people who took the time to answer your questions from losing the effort they put into the site.

As soon as I have notice that you have read this I will remove the account.

I was married for 10 years and it ended tragically. The worst for me was the fact that I couldn't talk with her... ever again.

I am almost three years past that sudden loss, and I have one more thing to tell you about all of this:

It really does get better. I didn't know anyone who had been through anything like this and so when people told me that this would get easier with time I dismissed them as well meaning, but horribly misinformed.

As someone who lost their spouse in one day, suddenly and without any warning at all... never to have closure of any kind... I can tell you that even my situation got better with a bit of time and pouring myself into the idea that that the world was bigger than myself and my problems.

I started finding ways to help other people and found that my time spent in service to others was even more helpful to my wellbeing than it was to those I was helping.

Living through this has made me a better person.
