Cannot Get A Job

Posted Thursday April 11 2013, 8:52 pm

I am a 21 year old female that cannot get a job. I have applied for numerous jobs in the field that I have studied in, cooking and I never seem to get hired or called for interviews anymore. I live in a city with about 120,000 people where it's constantly winter... I have also applied to numerous other jobs that aren't within the field that I've studied such as being a clerk, gas pump attendant, waitress and acrobat, etc. Jokes about that last one but I still never seem to get hired ??? What am I doing wrong?! Since first not being able to get a job this year, I have been: aiming each resume to the particular job I am applying for, writing down the expirience I have aquired at my previous jobs that apply, getting my friends/family/resume bu...

Homelessness happening in a matter of days, and I don't know what to do. Can anyone please help?

Posted Sunday March 24 2013, 9:00 pm

I'm not homeless yet but I will be in a matter of days. I'm a young, independent woman. I don't have any family or friends to help. I'm going to have to find a shelter soon and a job. I don't want to live in a shelter where people steal your belongings so I am minimizing the amount of things I own so that I will be able to carry it all or at least the important things in a back pack. I fear that a minimum wage job will not help me get enough income to finance a place of my own. I haven't been to college yet but I want to go very badly. I have never been able to afford it. I am super anxious about all of this. I'm afraid I won't make it as a homeless person. I'm not very strong and I have little skill. I'd like to know if there were professi...

I recently just got a job as a messenger for a law firm for a summer position. Since I am in college I don't start until the beginning of May. I'm feeling a little nervous about the position and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to succeed at my new job? This is actually my very first job so I was just curious about the position and what to expect. Thanks!

Open Job Interview at Petco: What should I wear? What do I expect?

Posted Monday March 18 2013, 1:51 am

18/f

I'm going in for an open interview at Petco and I was wondering what you're supposed to wear. This is my first interview and I really don't know what to expect and what questions they'd ask.
Is it any different than any other kind of interview?
Should I stick with a black skirt and flats?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Old volunteer experience. Include time period or not at all?

Posted Friday March 15 2013, 3:09 am

I'm fixing up my resume for job searches, but there is no job experience to include and my volunteer work is a few years old. Should I include the time period at all, or will that go against me? If I should include the time period, is just the years ok or MUST I include months as well? I am unsure of the months - they would be random guesses at best.

What Should I Do First? How do I start getting into acting?

Posted Thursday February 21 2013, 1:29 am

Hi :). I'm 13 and female. I love to act and sing; It's my passion. I realized I want to get into acting NOW, but... I'm not sure what to do first. I realize many kids want to act to just be on TV and want money, but I love to act. And those kids like to just jump in to acting and I know this will be a process and everything.

I'm just wondering... What should I do now? How do I start getting into acting? For some reason, I'd like to act in movies and TV shows and stuff. I love to act.

What do I need to study in order to become an awesome Graphic Designer?

Posted Monday January 14 2013, 10:45 am

I am 13, in the 8th grade. I took a different class this year, Career Orientation. My teacher took us to the computer lab to look up the job we've had in mind. I 've always been very creative so I thought I would search for graphic designing. I have my own laptop (obviously) and I make movies with it all the time. I absolutely love making movies, my parents have told me I would excel in this subject. But I was just wanting to know what kind of classes do I need to take and what do I need to study in order to become an awesome Graphic Designer? Oh and do I need to go College?

Having a Hard Time Finding a Job... :/

Posted Thursday December 20 2012, 11:18 am

I don't know what it is... I've been filling out application after application, but for some reason nothing is coming through. I've been applying to caregiver jobs because that's what I have experience in. I take care of an elderly lady two days a week but would like to find something else as well. Also I'm in college currently working on getting a degree in Gerontology (Study of the Aging) I have my level one med aide certification as well as first aid/cpr certification. I've even went on a couple interviews but there all telling me oh well call you back, and they never do... -_-
I'm very confident in the type of work I do (been doing it for about 4 years since I was 18, I'm now 22), and I thought the medical field was always the on...
