[ Answer Question ]

should I wait for another job

Posted Monday January 10 2005, 7:23 pm

I think I have my mind made up already but I'll still ask. I'm in kitchen and bath design and sent out resumes and drawings of mine. Place #1 called first...i'm interested in it but I don't think I personally have enough experience with Auto Cad and computer drawings but they want to hire me. A couple days later, Place #2 called. I love what they do there but still haven't gotten back to me on it. I called today and they don't know when they are going to know but seemed interested at the interview. I told #1 I'd let him know by wednesday. what if #2 doesn't call by then

i've been to school to be a Phlebotomist and EKG Technician, but i haven't had any luck finding jobs in those fields because they all want at least a year's experience. Any ideas as to how and where i could get experience (possibly paid)? Thanks!

I have no idea what I want to do now!

Posted Wednesday January 5 2005, 3:31 pm

Ok, so I used to want to be an archeologist. But since job shadowing, I'm not sure that that's the job I want, I like the history part and the digs, but not the science. I really want to help people, travel, and deal with history. I enjoy a good debate, and have a strong scense of justice too, but I don't know if being a lawyer would be right for me. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? They would be very helpful and appreciated. Thank you!

[ Answer Question ]

What should my raise be?

Posted Sunday December 5 2004, 2:16 pm

I work at an arcade. I was your basic level grunt for a while: Did all the cleaning and such. Then I started getting more into repairs. Then my boss started to trust me with bigger responsibilities. I always carry two important keys with me on the same keychain with my keys for my car, home, etc: The key to the building, and the key to all the machines. I know the passcode to the security system, and have full access to the register, change machine, basically anything to do with money. I know exactly how much money the business makes, how much goes towards expenses, and how much each individual machine makes. I am trusted to run the place myself on several days of the week. That, my friend, is a LOT of trust that has been placed into me....

Employment Background Checks

Posted Sunday December 5 2004, 11:20 am

I was recently terminated from a company. In my job search I've been saying I'm currently still employed. I've received an offer from another company and during the background check it has been revealed that I am no longer employed. Onmy application it says NOT to contact my current employer. So how did they find out? Was it a social security report? If so, what does this social security report state? Finally, how do I handle this so they don't recind the offer?

Thank you

Info please?

Posted Tuesday November 16 2004, 5:49 pm

Okay, I know it sounds really weird hearing this from a thirteen year old, but I want to be a cryptographer(a person who breaks codes). I am very interested in the topic, and I have loved breaking codes and solving lodgic puzzles since I was 5. I just want some background information on the topic ( like reccomended universities and classes, stuff like that). If anyone has any info on cryptography, or cryptology, please respond. NOTE: this is not a stupid phase I'm going through

Can't find a job

Posted Sunday October 31 2004, 11:16 pm

Hi again, my friend Dj who is 23 is having
some problems but is too shy to seek help.
He has been unemployed for 4 years, and is currently on welfare. He isn't "stupid" but everytime he goes to an interview he ALWAYS gets turned down. Dj always dresses appropriately and shows up on time to the interview but this still isn't working. He's applied for everything from retail, aged care work, bar work etc etc.
Also, studying is out of the question as he cannot afford the fees. Any suggestions would be helpful .
