depending on the make and model of the car it could mean different things. Your owners manual should tell you what it means. If you do not have an owners manual call a dealers service department for manufacturer of you car and they will tell you what it means and what needs to be done to correct the problem it is reporting.

Any warning light should not be ignored. If you do not have the owners manual call the dealers service department with the model and year of your car. DO so today before you end up broken down on the side of some highway.
