OK. I start medical assistant classes in the fall. And lately I've been thinking about going after a CPC for medical coding.
Medical assistants also do coding. Coding doesn't require any experience and i'm going to be learning it anyway so it's not like I'm going into it without ANY education.
I also know that if I pass the CPC exam, then I'll only get it as an apprentice until I either get more experience after 2 years or I do a program by the AAPC doing operative notes. Which I plan to do. So I understand that.
My question is, Since I'm doing medical assisting, would getting my MA degree be considered experience in coding?
