Do I have chlamydia?

Question Posted Tuesday April 15 2014, 8:39 pm

So my boyfriend & I recently discovered we both had chlyamdia. I got it cured. But my boyfriend on the other hand, hasn't yet. He went but they sent him somewhere else, anyways we were messing around we been using condoms since we found out but I was messing around & I was teasing him & didn't think anything of it but I just licked the top of his dick (the head) & just remembered you can get chlymadia through oral. I didn't think about it, but it was literally just a lick. Not a suck or anything. One lick! Lol he didn't cum or anything. Is there a chance I have a chlymadia? Please answer asap!

I have absolutely no experience with sti's or std's so I am not realy sure but I think you should go back to where you got treated before and ask them. Then I would hold back until your boyf is completely and utterly cured. Then no one can get hurt. Sorry I can't be much more help but I hope you are ok. :-)

Yes, it is possible that you might have contracted Chlamydia in the mouth. To be on te safe side, I would go to the doctor/clinic to get tested.

Also, I would suggest using condoms or abstaining from any type of intercourse until both of you are cleared. It's not worth risking your health!

Best of luck!!

I don't think you do. But I will tell you this, I feel sorry for your boyfriend. They will have to stick a metal rod in the hole of his penis that opends up and scrapes the walls of his protate. Good luck. Also how did you both get chlamydia, who cheated and didn't use a condom, you're lucky you didn't get herpes or aids

Sunshine answered Sunday April 20 2014, 9:17 pm:
I'm no expert, but I did a little research. According to my research, the chances are less than 10% through full on oral. So for just a lick, your chances are pretty much non-existent. Especially, since you already have the treatment meds in your system.

Its a high risk even if he didn't cum... So there might be a chance. Check to make sure otherwise you'll regret not being sure.

It's a tough question to answer. Chlamydia can be transmitted orally, but there was limited contact.

Your best bet is to hit the doctor again. Your boyfriend should also be treated, because there's always a risk of re-catching it.

One lick? I doubt you have chlamydia again. It's obviously possible, but as you said it was one small lick. Just watch put for signs again, but everything should be okay

carreyanne answered Friday April 18 2014, 6:04 am:
Firstly id advice you to get your boyfriend down to a clinic as soon as possible to get help to get rid of it before it progresses and can end up making him infertile, and cause later problems where he may not be able to get rid of the Chlamydia. And i doubt that just a lick can cause you to get it again but if you are worried i would also go to the clinic for a rest of mind. But i don't think you would of caught it again through just a lick.
Hope this helps

Askalisha01 answered Thursday April 17 2014, 11:19 pm:
The main ways you can get a std is threw bodily fluids so sexual intercourse and oral sex if there was any fluid on his penis than there is a slight chance being that his fluid came in contact with your saliva that eventually that disease gets into your blood stream but if what you say is true and was one lick and the penis was dry than the chances are of you getting it might be very low but in case of doubts check out with your doctor ! Better safe than sorry my friend

foxylady answered Thursday April 17 2014, 6:10 pm:
My suggestion to you would be to go online and read about chlymadia as it relates to oral sex. If you experience symptoms associated with chlymadia, then you should go back and see a doctor again. As I understand, chlymadia can actually live in your system and go undetected for a very long time, as some people experience symptoms while others don't. So you should go and get checked out once again just to be safe. You should take your boyfriend with you as well. If he refuses to go then you should discontinue sleeping with him because he does not care about you and your health. Don't let him give you excuses as to why he didn't get medical attention. And just a note to you; its better to be safe than sorry because if have once again contracted this disease and leave it untreated, it can affect your chances of having children.

wittedpanda answered Thursday April 17 2014, 5:11 pm:
Yes, there is a chance that you have it, but the chance is slim. Even though he didn't orgasm, there is a very good chance there was at least a small amount of pre-ejaculate fluid, which can transmit STDs. I would recommend going the the doctor in a few weeks to get tested, because it doesn't show up immediately.

Also, for future reference, if you want to have oral sex, several brands sell flavored condoms. A reliable brand is ONE.

I hope this helps.

Hi! No there isn't a chance of you having chlamydia due to you not basically sucking for a long period of time, if it was a lick you should be fine! Don't panic, if you do realise you're panicking check it out, but make sure before you and your boyfriend do anything else you get him cured for the risk of you getting it again. Hope it helped, stay safe. Lisa.

I truly cannot say for sure if you do or not sense I'm not a medical professional. But just in case I would say to go checked out again, I mean what would it hurt. Even though it may be a slim chance of getting it, you never know. Haha I'm sorry I couldn't be anymore of some type of help.

adviceman49 answered Wednesday April 16 2014, 10:53 am:
Short answer to your question; based on the facts below from the CDC it is very possible to have been re-infected. Chlamydia is also known as the ping pong disease as it is easily passed back and forth if both partners are not cured.

The following is taken directly from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

How is chlamydia spread?

You can get chlamydia by having anal, vaginal, or oral sex with someone who has chlamydia.

If your sex partner is male you can still get chlamydia even if he does not ejaculate (cum).

If you've had chlamydia and were treated in the past, you can still get infected again if you have unprotected sex with someone who has chlamydia.

Am I at risk for chlamydia?

Anyone who has sex can get chlamydia through unprotected anal, vaginal, or oral sex. However, sexually active young people are at a higher risk of getting chlamydia. This is due to behaviors and biological factors common among young people. Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men are also at risk since chlamydia can be spread through oral and anal sex.

Have an honest and open talk with your healthcare provider and ask whether you should be tested for chlamydia or other STDs. If you are a sexually active woman aged 25 years or younger, you should get a test for chlamydia every year. Gay, bisexual, and men who have sex with men; as well as pregnant women should also be tested for chlamydia.

A person who has chlamydia can be re-infected. So yes, if your boyfriend hadn't been treated yet or completed the entire treatment of medication, you are at risk of getting it again - even by licking the head of his penis. If I were you, I'd go to my gynocologist or doctor to get prescribed medication again. You can explain that you think you caught it again from your boyfriend, they'll go over the 'you should both be treated first before having sex' speech, then the doctor will give you new meds and you'll be cured again. Just be careful next time... you don't want to accidently catch it, simply because you couldn't be patient enough for both of you to complete your full treatment. Go get more meds, Best of luck to both of you <3
