Do any products that claim to be able to whiten your teeth at home really work? I need serious advice to whiten mine since I quit smoking but still drink coffee and tea which stains your teeth. :(
Igotamonopoly answered Monday March 17 2014, 8:55 pm: Whitening toothpastes (not any specific one in particular) and Crest Whitestrips have worked to keep my teeth nice and white despite my newfound love of coffee.
Do be careful that you don't over whiten. I accidentally fell asleep with the strips on once, and my teeth were extremely sensitive for a couple of days afterwards. Not pleasant.
You do need a tooth whitening tray to use with this product. It was recommended by my dentist and it does work pretty well. I would suggest asking your dentist what would work best and then finding it cheaper elsewhere (because the prices they have is marked up significantly).
Crest 3D whitestrips are known to work really well. Maybe that would work for you. Personally, i don't like the strips because they don't stick too well on my teeth (maybe I'm just not using it right?) In any case, it's not for me, but it might work for you.
You can also try Plus White 5 Minute Speed Whitening System. This one is I believe the cheapest out of all three so you might want to try it first.

I drink loads of tea, like red wine and smoke (hopeless case, not kind to my teeth). Use it all the time, as you might imagine! Suppose it's a bit more abrasive than usual toothpaste, and maybe some bleaching agent in it? (spilled some on a pricey black silk shirt a while back...took the dye out and left an almost white spot. Ruined it!). Used it for years with no problems and I'm knocking on a bit. If your teeth are naturally white and in good nick it should be all you need to keep them stain free.
