I am a 15 year old female. I weigh 188.5 lbs. and am 5'7 tall. Lately, I am finding myself with a shorness of breath and irregular heartbeat. I can just get up from a chair and my heart will be racing and beating harder than usual. About a month ago, I would occasionaly have a strange feeling in my chest. I don't really know how to describe it, but it felt like my heart skipped a few beats. Am I showing signs of a heart attack? Please help me, I'm scared.

What you have described could be a number of different issues. Depending on you frames size you are either grossly overweight for your height or border line grossly overweight if you are large framed. Your doctor who knows you best can answer that question for you.
What you have written about could be life threatening or it may not be. Only your doctor after running the proper diagnostic tests can tell for certain. You need to see a doctor ASAP.
IF you have one of these attacks again before you can see your doctor I would suggest you call 911 for help. Paramedics and EMTs are trained to care for you in just these types of emergencies and to know if you need to go to the hospital for care and treatment. You do not need parental or any other adult permission to call 911 if you think you need them. [ adviceman49's advice column | Ask adviceman49 A Question ]

What is your diet like? Do you exercise regularly? It's hard for your body to work out because you might not be in the best shape. [ Snaushad's advice column | Ask Snaushad A Question ]
