I get strep throat almost every year and this time I wanted to understand why so I looked it up and I got some info saying that it can cause like heart problems or something in the future. I want to know if that's true and if not is it normal or not to get strep throat so often?
K3587 answered Saturday November 9 2013, 11:32 pm: I used to get it once or twice a year. I just kept amoxicillin at home and took it once my throat started to act up. My doctor told me I was nothing if not consistent, but no damage was ever done to my tonsils. I've never heard of strep affecting the heart. If your doctor is not concerned about any long-term effects, you shouldn't be either. [ K3587's advice column | Ask K3587 A Question ]
