YouTube Partner Program

Question Posted Tuesday October 8 2013, 1:49 am

My YouTube videos are getting quite a lot of views and I'm considering joining the partner program to monetize them... but I have a question I can't seem to find in the terms.

Most of my content is original. But I have a few videos of me playing piano and singing some of my favorite songs.

Do I need to remove those videos before I monetize my original content? Would I get in trouble for also having non-original content on my account?

Also, I know it's not okay to show photos I don't OWN of celebrities? But it is okay to talk about them right? My account is mainly a comedy account.

YouTube lets you decide which videos you want to monetize. Do any of your videos have matched third party content notices? If not, there's nothing to worry about.
