My sister is having a baby shower and instead of a card we're supposed to bring our favorite children's book with an inscription (to the baby I'm assuming, right?)
Anyway, I need ideas. I'm not asking at all for someone to type out an inscription for me. Just simple, vague ideas on what I could write. Things that I could stem ideas off of and make them my own.
I'm not somebody that can pop out some profound, creative, and meaningful message even if it's just a few sentences. That's just not me, I'm not like that, my home made cards have always been garbage and because of that I've been stressing about this way more than normal or even necessary but I can't help it. It's been almost a month and I haven't come up with anything at all and the baby shower is only a few days away now.
Also I'm one of the aunts, I can't just write something simple and generic.
I asked my mom (her step mom) for ideas but before I could even finish my question my mom put her hand in my face and loudly said "oh no I'm not telling you what to write don't even think about it NOPE" so that's out, seeing as she doesn't understand the seriously unnecessary anxiety this is giving me. Seriously. It's so unnecessary. So please somebody give me ideas.

For example, if you gave the baby the Dr. Seuss book titled "Oh the places you'll go" you can write in it something like "Dear baby [name], you life has just begun and from this moment onward you will be doing so many things. You can do anything you put your heart to and you will succeed. No matter where you choose to go in life, I hope for the best. Love [your name]"
Or even something silly. Say you gave the baby the book "If you give a mouse a cookie" you can write "I hope that if I ever give you a cookie, you'll just eat it..."
Another idea is to simply write what you love about the book you're giving. It will be your favorite after all and should bring back happy memories. Translate those feelings. For example "My mom used to read me this book if I ever got scared. I hope this book helps you in your times of fear. Love, [your name]"
The most important thing is to go with your heart. Any message is wonderful if it comes from the heart.
