Cooking is basicly preparing edible food. So first you have to tell yourself 'I don't have to use the stove everytime to make an edible meal.' All you need to know is the basics. When your learing to cook, i suggest not trying to experiment with food that your feeding other people, atleast not until you know the basics. Simple list of foods you can make are ceral, sandwiches, salad, and then some bakedchicken. With salads all you really need is lettace (anykind will do Iceberg, Romaine, Red Leaf, etc.), dressing (anykind will do Ranch, bluecheese, even olive oil, etc) little choped carrots, and croutons. Chop lettace then mix lettace and carrots. Then drizze dressing. Mix it a bit then addd croutans. There you have it, a simple salad! I hope that helps you! If you can get your hands on a cookbook that would be great. Otherwise you have tons of stuff online. Just pick a type of food and go with it. Italian cooking is generally loved by most people, so that might be a good place to start. Also, you can find a lot of recipes that are both very tasty and not very hard to do.
jammy12 answered Saturday January 31 2009, 8:06 am: lol. do the whole recipe thing and always use herbs and spices. It gives the nastiest food taste. i've cooked for my teenage friends and they love it. So just think of what you want to cook and look it up online. start with small things like pasta salad or fried rice...and start cooking for yourself first.
then you'll know your strong point and cook only those things for people. don't use complicated recipes like chicken alfredo and stuff...try baked chicken and potato balls or something first...you'll work your way up the cooking ladder!
