try to get a pet that is easy to care for, hermit crabs are easy and so are sea monkeys or maybe a fish. after seeing you take care of an easy pet then your mom will let you take on more responsibility.

Here-To-Help answered Saturday March 13 2004, 4:17 pm:
Show her you're responsible by becoming a babysitter (if yo're old enough).
Also do chores around the house without being told, and don't talk back to you're mother (if you do). When you get home do your homework, and clean your room.
I know these things have NOTHING to do with pets, but it's a way to show your mom you're responsible. (The babysitting is DEFINITELY a pLuS).

lay off the pet thing for a while. then, when your a bit older, and want a pet, save your own money and somehow show your mom that you have some responsibility...of...taking care of a friend's dog for the afternoon?

Why don't you try a joint responsibility? And it depends on what kinds of pets you had before they've died. If they were fish, I realize they can die pretty easily with the cause unknown. If they were something like a cat or a dog, I'm curious as to how much attention you paid to them.

Try a pet that is easy to take care of.

first: did you kill the pets? if they all died...
sorry, just had to let that out.
second: well try and show you mom how responsible you really are. if you are old enough, try to get a job that involves animals

If you've been looking after them then its not your fault that theyve died. And you should get another chance.
If you havent been looking after them then maybe she's right.
It depends on what pets you had and what pet you want.

If all your pets have died your mom probably has a good point. Taking care of a pet is a lot of responsibility, and if your not willing to devote time every day for your pet it's not fair to the animal that you are its owner.

just wait for a while and show your mum you can be responsible perhaps by helping her around the house and things like that then ask again and remind her that you have been responsible lately

insight2020 answered Wednesday February 25 2004, 12:09 pm:
Maybe sit down with your mom and discuss both sides and then come to a decision about a future pet. I emphasize FUTURE so you can get over some of your pet losses and think about what you and your mom talk about and do some research, together,on types of pets and how to care for them. When you decide on a pet, find out all you can about it from other sources including others who might have the pet you want. Remember-your mom took care of you and so she knows how caring for another being can be. And, I'm certain she had to ask alot of questions along the way-even before having kids to help prepare herself. Listen and learn and then go forth.-insight2020(formerly known as tommytony)

I'm sorry that I didn't give you good enough advice but I was telling the truth. If you are not able to keep your pets alive, maybe your mom was right in thinking your not responsible enough. Look at her side of the story, ok? She might not want to spend money on your pets if they're gonna die soon. Maybe you could ask her to start again, but with fish? Fish are cheap pets and don't eat too much. Maybe if you take very good care of the fish, your mom will see that maybe you're ready for the pet of your choice. Again, I'm sorry I wasn't supportive enough for your liking.
Love and Luck

tell your mother to give you another chance to prove that you are in fact responsible enough to take care of a pet.tell her to give you a trail
period for thirty-days and if you don't follow through with it she can give the pet to someone who can take better care of it

If you really want a pet that badly, talk w/ your mom and come up with something that you could do i order to show her how you can be respnsible. if u show her you can be more responsible, she may reconsider letting you have a pet.
