Question Posted Saturday January 31 2004, 10:27 am
Hey, it's lizzy, i have an advice collumn, i was wondering, i want to dye my hair because i am a blonde and it is getting really boring. I want to dye my hair like a maroon color, but not to whacked out, and not so it is auburn like everyone else's is. My skin is kind of pale and i don't know what to do about it. Will a dark red look good on a sort of pale person? Thanks
Lizzy

You have to consider your eyebrows and lashes when dying your hair such a dramatically different colour - otherwise it might look like you're wearing a wig... Then again, blonde can look great too. Being a blonde myself, I'm rather attached to staying true to myself, and I tend to use techniques to make it look brighter and more unique such as rinsing with cold water.
If you really must dye your hair though, go through with it, because I'm sensing it would look great on you. Might even give you a slightly gothic look, I don't know... [ Alice-Noir's advice column | Ask Alice-Noir A Question ]
adviceprincess answered Sunday April 4 2004, 1:10 am: hey, ummmmm...defiantly don't dye your hair maroon. it would make you look even paler because of the dark red color. plus, it's to wild. i say you should just dye your a hair a redish blondish color. maybe like a strawberry blonde if you want a change for your normal color. but if you want to get away from blonde all together, then do what the other person said and go for the nicole kidman color. blondology answered Tuesday February 3 2004, 8:08 pm: Lizzy,
I think you should go with the Nicole Kidman color it is not too red but not to pale it would look very natural and I think it looks on any girl who has pale skin. Thats the color I would go for!
Hope that Helps,

shay*shay answered Saturday January 31 2004, 5:23 pm: Me too! I think that darker red/orange looks good. Im not a big fan of maroon though. Thats a little too wild. Go to Sallys beauty suply or some other beauty place to see all the cool colours they have. [ shay*shay's advice column | Ask shay*shay A Question ]

But if you get a light tan so it off sets your natural skin color just a little darker, then it would look fine, and make sure its a real tan not a day spa, hope this helped.
But if you want go to a place like target and get the natural color for dying your hair red and it looks fine even if you have light skin. Or maybe try natural brunette.
