ScaperJess answered Thursday December 11 2003, 8:08 pm:
Not all birds do fly but those that do fly to get from place to place since they can't really run, they fly to get away from predators or to find and gather (or hunt) their food... those are just a few possibilities...

shay*shay answered Thursday December 11 2003, 6:53 pm:
Because their wings give themselves the ability to glide and soar through the air. Their wings push air down lifting them up. They are extremley light too. Their bones are hollow, light, and strong. They have light feathers that catch the wind. So did I answer your question? Hopefully!
