This Is Going To Be Kind Of Long!:
I have known so many people that are self consious! My friend used to be but I told her every day to think "Nobody in this world is perfect" and to love yourself as you are. You might run into somebody (or a friend) that you thought was perfect. Trust me, I still think my friend is perfect. But then I realized, she's not. I mean if you really think about it, like i said above, nobody's perfect and thats why God (sorry if your religion is different) made us all different. But even though were different, everyone, and I mean everyone, is beautiful! :)

Short answer: You probably can't.

Slightly longer answer: Realize that your feelings of self-consciousness are usually unbased, and that they don't define you. Everyone makes mistakes; it's a fact of life. You can worry about it all you want, but you can't change it, and it's better to just continue on your merry way without fretting over what someone might say. Once you can determine that being self-conscious doesn't mean you have to change your course in life one bit, you'll have an easier time of things.

Works for me... usually. ;)

Lots of people in this world are self-conscious... we have to all remember we are our toughest critics. Our standards of what we should look like are ridiculous, and we view our selves with all our imperfections. The only way to relax and look at yourself as more beautiful is to believe you are, and that those little things you find wrong with yourself others probably don't notice. Tell yourself each time you look in the mirror that you are great, pretty (handsome?) you are just as good looking if not better than the other people you know (of your sex) and you have to truly start to believe it... remember that in all fact most people don't remember what they wore yesterday let alone what you wore, and there are probably people out there that with they could look like you too...

It depends on what you're being self conscious about. And why? Are youcomparing yourself to what others have? If that's the case, I know you won't be able to stop, so, try and find someone with whatever it is that you WOULDN'T have. If you're sel conscious about your nose, then find someone that you think has a worse nose. Then tell yourself that it's not as bad as you thought. Whatever it is, there's always someone out there who can make you feel better.

wow tough one! lol, i think if we could all figure that out then this world would be filled with egostistic people only, lol, but one way i think that helps is when u start pickin at urself and thinkin negative, stop and think, think about it and think hard, think about the positive things about u and the things in ur life, ok? it helps a TON! lol, and think about compliments u have recieved in the past and that helps a lot too, lol, well, take care and smile! and keep life sweet!

It's very hard to feel good about yourself when you always put yourself down. Do you do this? It's very easy to think that people are always looking at you and see all of your "huge flaws", but that's not true. Everyone else thinks the same thing - that they have to act just right or else everyone will notice. They are too busy worried about themselves to worry about you!

Think quick: Name 10 bad things about yourself.

Name 10 good things about yourself.

It is soo much easier to name the bad things.

When you find yourself saying negative things, you have to stop yourself. This is a pretty cool way of doing it, and it works well:

- When a bad thought about yourself sneaks into your head, say (out loud, as long as you aren't in public) "STOP."

- If the thought is still coming, say "STOP!" louder. SCREAM IT if you have to, but don't give in and refuse to let the negative thoughts enter your head.

- If you do this a lot, you will start to get better at stopping yourself. Then, you can start saying "stop" in your head silently. Start doing that, and eventually, you can effortlessly stop the negative thoughts without saying anything.

It sounds rediculous and silly, but it's proven through research. Try it! What have you got to lose?

Pretend you know what you're doing. Pretend you're authorized. Dress up a bit.
Hell, if you can succeed at all that, you're better off than most of us, and could be an actor.

join more social activities, you make a lot of new friends and you learn new stuff. That's what I did and I've got a self-esteem level of 80 out of 100,now. It rises the more you do new stuff, the more people you meet.
