Mother nature's sense of humour

Question Posted Friday November 7 2003, 5:41 pm

Why in the heck do I still have zits at 31? This is ridiculous! My grandmother promised me they would go away, but now she is the only thing that has gone away. Will they go away after I have children? Is it hopeless?

It is called 'adult acne'. See your doctor.

THIS IS NOT SARCASTIC. it could be two things:
1)adult acne
2)rosacia (its a disease that makes you break out and get acne even when youre an adult) you should see a doctor and have them prescribe sumthing. *thank you for your time*~luckiedice*

Anyone who thinks they can tell you WHY you have zits over the internet is full of it. There can be a number of contributing factors. Fortunately, alot of people on here have hit a few of them on the head. Namely, your homone levels and make-up.
Moreoften though, if it's still affecting you at 31, then chances are it's internal (As most types of acne are ). If that happens to be the case, then you will have to see a dermatolist to find a suitable treatment. He/She may recommend medication ( one of the best happens to be Accutane, but several precautions accompany that as well as blood tests prior to treatment being administered ). Cryo may be another method if they're more annoying than anything. In this procedure, they freeze the postule and remove it. Nevertheless, if it poses a major problem, then seek the assistance of a dermatologist.

Go to a derm and get medicine. I'm 16 and I take minocycline twice a day and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me because I haven't had any major acne for about a year now. For real, if you ever want them to disappear, you have to do something about it. Mother Nature likes to torture people who wait for things to go away.

If you wear a lot of make-up it might be due to the grease in them. Maybe you, like me, is allergic to scented soaps and lotions, you could cut back on those too. Go to a dermatologist.

My parents ask why they still have zits in their 50s.

Zits never go away.

Welcome to life with skin that has pores and hair follicles.
