my so-called friends

Question Posted Sunday November 2 2003, 8:35 am

Ever since three years ago when my friend (We'll just call her Caitlyn) moved to my school, she's been one of my best friends. We told each other EVERYTHING! And then, the next year, Caitlyn and I were still as close as ever. And I was going out with this guy, (let's call him Mark), who went to Caitlyn's church, and they were pretty close friends. Now, skip forward to the present...
In the beginning of the year, Caitlyn and Mark(who I've broken up with but am still really close to as a friend) introduced me to two other friends of theirs from church (We'll call them Brian and Chrissy). Well right away, we were all a big group of friends. Chrissy was on my field hockey team, and I was dating Brian for a short period of time. Then when we broke up, we decided to just be friends... and we were very, very, close friends. Meanwhile, Chrissy and I are still really close. Caitlyn and I are slowly growing apart. She has started treating me like crap! WheneverI try to talk to her about the way she treats me, all i get is a lecture on how much I've changed,, or how that sarcasm has GOT to go, or what a lousy friend I am. And then I found out that they were all going trick or treating together, dressed up as the Addam's family, then back to Caitlyn's for pizza and hot tubbing. They didn't tell me. The didn;t invite me. They lied to me when I asked. I went with a few friends. When we saw Mark, Brian, Caitlyn, and Chrissy, we started singing the Addam's family theme song... no big deal, right? but they sang it too, and chased us. when we stopped running and let them catch up, Brian said hi to one of the other girls I was with, and none of the others even said hi to any of us. They didn't even NOTICE me! and then they ran away, screaming "F you A holes!!!" It really pissed me off. I don't know what to do.... i thought we were all one big group. they are obviously not god friends but I just can't let them go!

(and I'm really really sorry if this made no sense, but I simply can't thin k straight right now!)

I feel your pain. This sort of thing happened to me in college. We were all hanging out as couples, and then we changed partners. Then all of our friendships fell apart. I still talk to one of them. True friends don't ignore friends or treat them like yesterday's garbage. Put on a happy face and get some different friends that share you interests. Once you get busy doing other things, it won't smart as much.

Well if all your friends don't like you and they act differently towards you maybe there is something wrong with you? Try looking at yourself and see if you had changed with an open mind, maybe you'll find something.
