KiWiKiSsEs answered Friday October 24 2003, 8:34 pm: Well first off all it's up to you what you do and if your sister does see you and she does blab oh well you might get grounded for a while but you probably had a great time but betraying your parents isn't very great but also you probably aren't going any father then you should right? lol just do what you need to. unless you also could explain that you won't go any farther then dancing and that's it. i hope this helps
neonfizz answered Friday October 24 2003, 7:39 pm: Well, how are old are you? i'm 13 and not allowed to date or dance with guys but I do anyways. Is your sister younger or older than you? is she allowed to dance with guys? If she isn't and you see her dancing you could tell her you won't tell your dad if you can dance without her telling your dad on you. If not, you could, just not dance with someone. Heck, i went to a dance last night and only danced one out of like 10 slow dances with a guy. The other ones me and my friends fake danced with each other and went and saw who was dancing with who. You don't have o dance with a guy to have fun. [ neonfizz's advice column | Ask neonfizz A Question ]
Kira_Valoka answered Sunday October 19 2003, 7:33 pm: I guess you dont dance with him.
I dont see what the big deal is--if you're going to a dance, you should be allowed to dance with a guy; what would be the point of going (unless you're homosexual--and I'm assuming you're a girl)?
Ask your parents: why are they letting you go to a dance but not letting you dance? [ Kira_Valoka's advice column | Ask Kira_Valoka A Question ]
ScaperJess answered Sunday October 19 2003, 2:15 pm: My brother is goofy like that as far as blabbing, its a dance, your dancing with a boy, as long as your not booty dancing i just don't see the problem... dance with him if you want, if your sister blabs kick her ;)... but really now, you have to decide if dancing is worth the consequences... a lecture or whatever it might be, to me it sounds as though they might be being sarcastic and you might not get in any trouble. But then again they might be very serious. Just weight the good and bad in order to decide if it's worth it. [ ScaperJess's advice column | Ask ScaperJess A Question ]
Turc answered Sunday October 19 2003, 1:04 pm: It depends on how old you are. If you're 12 and your dad is saying no dancing with boys, he's being a little strict, but not totally out of line. However, if you're 16 or 17 and he's telling you not to dance with a boy, that's a little far-fetched. He can't keep you at home forever.
Try this tactic-- have your dad meet the boy, and get his general impression. I'm not telling you to go behind your dad's back or whatever, or bribe your sister, but don't let him smash your independence. Chances are, he and your brother and just being a bit protective. This means they love you-- just let them know you need to be able to live every once in a while. [ Turc's advice column | Ask Turc A Question ]
oncebeyondyears answered Sunday October 19 2003, 12:49 pm: "the event" really needs to be defined here. If it is a dance then it seems a little silly to let you go an not dance. If it is something else (few things where dancing will occur will go against the first line here) then it will probably be best to respect your father's wishes. It might not seem so but, he is looking out for your best interests.
Sometimes parents can be sarcastic as you advance in life and he might not have been serious about the no dancing rule, just to pull your leg. You know him much better than we. You should respect his wishes for now, especially while you are under his guardianship. If he was serious, just hang out and develop a good, strong background with this cute guy and you might find the wait worthwhile. [ oncebeyondyears's advice column | Ask oncebeyondyears A Question ]
