I sugggest searching on Snopes.com whenever you suspect something might be a hoax or urban legend of one sort or another. It's highly amusing and you'll often find interesting things you never knew about otherwise (such as how Nieman-Marcus lists a cookie recipe on a web site designed to quash the long-standing legend associated with it). dolphinlover answered Friday October 10 2003, 11:00 pm: Well, soda tabs are made of aluminum, so if enough were collected, a wheelchair frame could be created out of aluminum.
However, I think when they collect those for a wheelchair, they are trying to sell them for recycling and then buy a wheelchair from the sales. They get more money for tabs because they are pure aluminum. If they were going to make the wheelchair out of the aluminum itself, they would collect whole cans to get the most metal. So there are two possibilities to consider. [ dolphinlover's advice column | Ask dolphinlover A Question ]
