Advicenators Frequently Asked QuestionsAnswer RatingsHow do I leave feedback for columnists? You can only rate a columnist or leave feedback if they answer a public question you ask. Click the side link that says "Your Questions". Click on a question name. Underneath each question is a set of numbers. Click a number to give the answer that rating. Here's what the numbers basically mean:
1 - Pretty bad advice
2 - Not harmful, but not useful either
3 - Decent enough advice
4 - Good advice
5 - Really awesome advice
You should try not to give too many ones or fives, but don't give everyone threes either. Just rate what you think the advice earned. After you click a number, the page you go to will give you the option to leave more feedback. If you don't feel like leaving feedback you don't have to, if you change your mind it's easy to go back and add it later.
Can I change a rating or feedback once I've left it? Yes. Just click the "Your Questions" link again and find the question that your feedback applied to. Then click the link that says "(change)" underneath the advice. From there you can edit your feedback (or add it, if you never did) and you can change the number.
How are ratings used? Answer ratings are used when we calculate columnist ratings. All ratings of answers to public questions posted in the last 30 days count towards columnist ratings.
