what are the chances of a false positive?

I see my gynecologist once or twice a year since I had my daughter. I've been negative for all the routine swab tests like gonorrhea or chlamydia. last year in February I got a new primary care doctor and had to do blood work. I've never been tested for this because apparently doctors don't check for it unless you ask? so I got tested for hsv 1 and 2. 1 came back negative which is oral herpes. I tested positive for hsv2 which means genital. I have only had 1 sexual partner and I've never had a single symptom. The only thing I can think of is sometimes odor but usually only when I'm active and get sweaty a lot. my results were like 10.4 so on labcorp it says it's very hard to be inaccurate. Its been a year and I still feel like falling apart...

Male/25 from Nigeria , I got diagnosed with hsv-2 (genital herpes) six months ago and that was my first time of having sex, after the diagnosis I was depressed, I hated myself, and the person that infected me, (I told the said girl I had sex with, and she denied) but I'm sure it was her that infected me, because I had not have sex with anyone else besides her. but over the last two months I've let go of some of the hurt and pains.... Question about STD's

I have had burning a little on and off, feelings of having urinate a lot, tested for UTI it came back normal. I had sex with someone different for about the last 2-3 months. I have felt fine, but I'm worried about STD's. I was at my OBGYN, He said all looked good, but would he have a feeling if I had an STD? I'm so worried and feel so scared to get tested, help?

Genital Herpes or Vaginal thrush

I am fairly young under the age of 18 and had been engaging in oral sex with my boyfriend who has suffered from a cold sore years ago. I had oral sex with him on a Saturday and then by the Wednesday I had some discomfort weeing. I had a look up my vagina on the Saturday to see thrush build up (have encountered thrush oral/vaginal for two years every few months). I treated it with canestan, however I was finding it painful to wee and to sit down properly. The next week I went to the doctors on Tuesday and was told I have genital herpes, and had medication thrown at me without any swabs taken. I then decided to go to a GUM clinic on the Thursday to be swabbed, I am now waiting for my results. The lady who swabbed me said it looks like genital...

I am a straight male.I had sex for the first time to a stripper . A virgin before that . Got drunk and lost control. Should I worry after being HIV negative for 6 weeks blood test?

Hi, I'm 17 and I recently hooked up with someone around the end of March. We used a condom but something went wrong because of a couple of days later I started having symptoms of chlamydia so I went and got a urine and Pap test right away, a few days later they called me to say I was positive for chlamydia and to come in and get my treatment. I took the antibiotics they gave me and went in for a follow up to make sure it was gone and now I am good with that. They gave me an appointment to get a blood test a little bit over 6 weeks, so when I went in to get my blood test they told me to come in 2 weeks later to go my results. I went in today and I was negative for everything but am still slightly worried. I have an appointment to get a 3 mon...

Morning,I am really worried because I almost had sex with my girlfriend my like five or six months ago but wen I tried to have sex with her my penis didn't go through at first but I think on my 2nd trial that same day I tink it went half way in buh it was really tight..so I stopped especially since I wasn't having condom with me...so she rubbed my penis for like five to ten minutes before I ejaculated... Im not sure he's positive, cause he tells me he isn't (but who trusts anyone hahaha) still, I'm afraid this might give me AIDS, he came inside me, but he has a condom on and it clearly wasn't broken. So does that give me AIDS? Or is there a possibility?

I'm really really scared about one thing. I had oral sex with a guy and I did everything I can to be safe (im a guy too) when he came, i think some fell on my lips? The thing is, i like to bite my lips and such, but at that time, im pretty sure it's not bleeding. I also washed my mouth afterwards. Am I going to have herpes?

Can you get chlamydia through kissing?

Several months before I met my current partner, I made out with someone (let's call him Tom) who I later learned had chlamydia. I didn't think anything of it at the time, because I figured there was no way I could get oral chlamydia from making out with someone.
However, now that I am with someone else I am worried that I did, in fact, receive chlamydia from Tom. My logic is this; if Tom received chlamydia from a previous partner, it is probable that they have engaged in oral sex, during which he could have picked up oral chlamydia from the girl's genital chlamydia. Then I suppose it is possible that he could pass on the oral chlamydia to me through mouth to mouth contact, and then I could have passed it on to my current par...

What exactly is HPV?

I am 19 year old female, and have been been sexually active with 2 different men in my life. (Not at the same time) and about 3 weeks ago I got my annual Pap smear but I also had a yeast infection. My cells came back normal and everything else was normal aside from the HPV results came back positive. My doctor said the yeast infection could have caused the test to be in accurate, but is that true? She wants to see me back in 6 months, but I am going to a gynecologist specialist, and am going to get a full STD screening. Does anyone know if the yeast infection could have really made the results in accurate and anything about the HPV. Thank you so much!

okay, so i am 16 years old and i AM sexually active but haven't had sex in about a month. A few days ago, my vaginal area has been quite itchy and it's really bothering me. I examined myself, and seen little white small bump like things on the "inside" of my vaginal wall. Also my clitorious is very red and swollen. Someone please help, ASAP.
