Kitten Biting And Scrathing Won't Allow To Be Picked Up.

Posted Tuesday August 11 2020, 11:51 pm

I got a kitten about a week ago that was absolutely gentle and constantly wanting to play. You could pick her up without issues and she would just purr and purr when interacting. Fast forward to this week and she's become the devil's cat.

My mom suddenly can't touch her and nor can my brother without being nipped. If she has to pick her up to take her downstairs or into another room the kitten claws her and keeps trying to bite despite being fed and cared for by her. We got her for the child in household and now aren't sure they should interact.

We've read articles about this and YouTube but none of the techniques to correct the cat works. The odd thing is that she spends most of her time in my room and then th...

Is my cat suffering?

Posted Friday March 22 2019, 4:35 pm

I have a female cat that hasn't been spayed. She rolls around a lot and cries when she's in heat. Is she in pain and/or suffering? It looks like she is. I haven't taken her to get fixed because she is severely traumatized and I don't want to put her through that. She's and indoor cat.

our 10 year old Puggle is sick

Posted Sunday January 21 2018, 10:34 am

our 10 year old Puggle is sick, seems bloated, just not well. I have been for the past three days due to an infection been (per the vets recommendation) putting his antibiotic pill in small piece of bread with some chuncky peanutbutter on it two times per day. Being Sunday the closest vet is 30 min. away and $125.00 to just walk into the door. Is there anything we can do until he can be seen in the morning.
Please help...

Not sure what to do to help my cat

Posted Sunday November 19 2017, 9:34 am

Hi all, 30F - kitty in question (Lu) is turning 10 in April.

I've had her since she was 10 weeks old (which means part of this is my fault, I'm sure), and I can't clip her claws, I can't brush her, and I sure as hell can't bathe her. Scruffing her does nothing (it doesn't work on some cats), and it is REALLY difficult to swaddle her, though that kinda helps with claw-clipping
When I say "I can't," I mean I get seriously bloodied - she bites, claws, kicks, and it's a success if I manage to actually get one or two claws done without a new scar.
I've tried giving her a treat per claw she lets me clip, but she's overweight and I don't want to keep doing that.
Because she's overweight, she can't ...

My cat has suddenly become mean and won't stop attacking and biting me?

Posted Thursday November 9 2017, 11:36 am

I don't know what happened. I've had him for over a year now and he's always been my little baby. Then this week he's suddenly gotten very vicious and I'm especially confused because I've actually been going out of my way to do more things for him that he likes.

For example, I bought him a new pricey food and water bowl that's raised so that he stops getting chin acne from the plastic on the floor ones he had before and so he doesn't accidentally get food in his water anymore.

I switched him over to the more expensive wet food that he likes more.

I bought him some salmon flavored lickable calming gel that he likes.

I set up a chair by the window so he could look out when he...

I can't deal with my cat anymore, what do I do?

Posted Wednesday September 27 2017, 7:52 am

I love my cat dearly, but recently I moved into an apartment with a roommate and now he's turned into a little monster. He has plenty of space between my master bedroom and very large bathroom. Everything he needs are in the two. Yet he keeps crying at the doors constantly wanting to get out and be in the living room. Then when he's in the living room he cries there too. He never stops. It's relentless and for the past two weeks I haven't gotten any sleep as every time he meows I have to chase him under the bed and throw pillows at him to get him to shut up only for him to start again a few minutes later.

I've become increasingly angrier about this and found myself pinning him down today and threatening to hit him with my sh...

Husky is driving me crazy, nothing works with him

Posted Friday August 18 2017, 10:47 pm

I adopted my Husky about 2 years ago. The vet thinks he's 10 years old now. He was chipped with old info- his owner must have moved and left him behind. When we got him he was potty trained and everything, and he doesn't bark which is an AWESOME bonus for me. But right off the bat there have been some major quirky issues that are subtle at first, but they've become too big to ignore.
He is an attention whore. Ohhhh my gosh, you can pet him for 30 mins straight and it's not enough. NEVER enough.
He does not like to play with any toys. At all. I've legitimately tried everything- squeakers, crinkly ones, realistic animal ones, frisbies, tug rope, laser pointers, bones, even Kongs with food in them he gets tired of after a while....

My cat had kittens, but one is having trouble

Posted Sunday May 21 2017, 8:04 pm

My cat has a nasty habit of trying to escape out of the house. A few months ago when she returned from one of these events she ended up pregnant. Just this morning she went into labor and had five kittens. The fourth one was stillborn and the fifth is having trouble nursing and regulating it's body heat. It doesn't meow either, but moves around trying to find warmth. We've had the idea of placing a heating pad under then to see if it would do anything and trying to figure out how to feed the one with problems. Is there anything that I should know that might help the last kitten and bring it to a healthy, more active, state?

I want to give away my cat, I can't deal with him anymore?

Posted Sunday April 30 2017, 2:57 pm

I really do love my cat, but cleanliness to me is more important.

Ever since I got him from the SPCA I've been battling fleas wit him. They'll go away and come back and they FREAK ME OUT. I've spent so much money already on getting rid of them only for the next batch to be born a month later and have to do it all over again. I obsessively clean to make sure there aren't any, but one or two will always still survive.

I feel like I can't have a boyfriend because what if he slept over and a flea jumped on him??? That would be disgusting and he would think I was a dirty person.

Other than this I'm tired of his litter and always cleaning it out and how bad it smells every time he takes a poo. I bough...

HELP! My mom told me I can't bring my cat home over the summer?

Posted Sunday April 9 2017, 2:06 pm

I live on campus during the year and for the last two years I haven't had to go home for an extended period of time. I did go home for a short period during winter break and spring break and brought my cat with me both times and she was fine with it and loved having him around. She even cried about losing him when I had to take him back with me to college. Well this year there's a 50% chance that I'll have to go home for the summer.

I interviewed for a summer position so I could stay on campus again over the summer like last time, but my friend told me that all the positions are already filled from what she's overheard.

Now my mom is saying I can't bring the cat with me if I come home over the summer ...

I keep treating my cat for fleas, but can never find them?

Posted Wednesday February 22 2017, 11:02 pm

Hello, so a few months back I adopted a cat from a shelter who turned out to have fleas. I know he has them because I keep spotting flea dirt (feces) where he sleeps and every once in a while a flea will jump off of him.

I have been treating him with a flea collar, flea pills (like pills I feed him that are supposed to kill the fleas in 6 hours), and the flea medication that goes on their neck once a month.

The weird part of this is that I sit him down about every 2 days and groom him with a flea comb all over his fur (short hair). Do I find any fleas? No. Do I see any flea dust? No.

I'm getting extremely frustrated because I don't know what to do. He's confined to a master bedroom and a bathro...
