Posted Saturday December 9 2023, 10:08 am

I am a 34 year old female and receive disability but I called social security to see if I could work since I have been on disability since I was 12 and they said I could work for 90 days to see if I could work without it affecting my check and insurance. My problem is that since I've never worked at 34 years old I have no references. I have volunteered with my church. Could I use my pastor as a reference? I volunteered with the kids church. Could I use the children's pastor as a reference? I need 3 references. Who else could I use use as a reference? I have babysat for family members but I know family members are not allowed for references. I have also volunteered at a thrift store but that was about 10 years ago. Is that old and half the p...

I want to move to another state but I need a job

Posted Monday November 15 2021, 9:57 am

My lease is up in January and I’m thinking about moving to another state. I currently live in apartment and I realize that maybe living alone isn’t the best thing for me right now. I talked to my sister and she said I could live with her. She has a nice house and a spare room for me. I feel good about moving but at the same time I like my current job. At the moment it’s remote until next year but I don’t know the exact day I need to to return to the office. Im currently applying for jobs in the state I want to live but don’t know if I’ll have new job before my lease is up. What should I do?

Job Option Dilemma

Posted Saturday June 5 2021, 1:02 pm

I turned 16 a few months ago, and even before then I have obsessed over the moment when I could start looking for a job. I’ve had a few that I’ve considered since then but now that I can actually start applying I can’t seem to figure out which ones I have an actual shot at. I say this because I’ve only considered jobs that aren’t in my small town, this is a slight problem for me because the one person that I recently started to believe I will I have to depend on for transportation seems to expect me to only consider jobs in my small town. These job options are very limited, some most likely don’t have good pay, flexible hours, don’t hire people my age and or I wouldn’t be comfortable in the work environment(I get anxiety an...

Should I get a job working with COVID infected patients?

Posted Monday November 30 2020, 11:59 pm

Its been 6 months since I quit my last job due to my hours being reduced. I applied for unemployment but was disqualified. I'm currently waiting on an appeal hearing. I live with my parents right now. I've been applying to tons of jobs in my field and some that aren't in my field. I'm afraid of getting infected with COVID and bringing it back to my parents. My mom is sickly. Some interviewers have told me that I would come into contact w/ COVID patients.

Can a person make enough money to pay their bills by working a PRN shift?

Posted Tuesday November 24 2020, 2:20 am

I'm interviewing for a night PRN position at a hospital as a patient screener. I'm not if I'll get a lot of work hours every month because it's "as needed."

I'm thinking about this job because I really want to work in a hospital and move up to other positions for what I went to school for. But it is PRN and I have bills to pay.

Dream part time job🥺

Posted Wednesday November 4 2020, 4:58 pm

So I just turned 16 late last month, and now that I’m old enough for a job. I’m more anxious than before to get a job, but I have a big issue, transportation. My mom doesn’t have a car nor does anybody in my household even know how to drive, the part time job I’m anxious to apply for is two towns away from me, not a long drive but the two people I have in mind to frequent between as transportation, could become difficult. And if I risk having transportation complications then I could lose my job if I actually get it. Another issue is that my mom is on welfare, it’s what we survive off of my sister got a job and they cut our EBT off, if I get a job then I don’t know what they’ll cut her down to, but Ik it won’t be good. So what should I do?

Do I really need to have Instagram to be a director/writer?

Posted Saturday June 20 2020, 11:33 am

Okay so I’m 2021 I’ll be attending college and majoring in either film or writing. I just want some advice on this matter, do I really need to have a social media platform for this career field? It’s just very tiring for me to post a picture, hope it gets more than ten likes then get upset when it only gets 5 likes and a comment from a robot. I am not a fan of social media and I have deleted my account before but I was up for a part that required me to have it. (Didn’t get it, not enough followers and they wanted me to get tik tok and I refuse to have an app on my phone that’s owned by a communist country) I also only post 1 pic or a collage picture of pics a month. I am not a fan of social media and I only go on to post a pic and...

What do I do about my future?

Posted Monday May 4 2020, 9:11 am

I'm (female, 24)currently employed in a full-time permanent role as a HR administrator. Sounds great, right? Except it's not. I moved into this role two years ago under the guise that if I worked hard and got the necessary qualifications I'd see career progression and a bigger salary (as someone who lives at home alone with her physically/mentally-disabled-due-to-a-stroke mother, this was super important to me).
Two years later, I have the qualifications. Still, my pay hasn't changed since I started the role (though my responsibilities have increased), in fact, I earn less than the individuals who are employed in my previous position in the mail room. In addition to this, I've also developed a severe repetitive strain injury in bot...

No job security. Need life advice

Posted Thursday January 16 2020, 7:51 pm

I need advice. Im a recently divorced mom. And i make 46000 a year with no college degree
I work retail as a store manager and there is just no job security anymore. I have had to get a second job just to be able to afford rent and bills. I want to go to school. I need to think of my future. And i need to know are their options out there for me to be able to make enough money and be able to go to school full time? My current job there is no way that i can work around a full time schedule. I have three kids and im almost 40 so moving back in with my parenta is not an option. Nor is finding a cheaper place to live.

I don’t know what to do dance or act.

Posted Sunday November 17 2019, 1:35 pm

I need help, so I’m auditioning for a girl group but the choreography is way too hard. What I really want to do is write, act, and direct and that’s been my passion since elementary. I love the idea of being in a girl group but the work is a lot. Should I just stick to my passion and focus on writing or should I continue to dance?

How to be successful

Posted Tuesday November 5 2019, 8:30 pm

I didn't go to college and have two young children. I currently work in a factory 2nd shift and hate every day of my life. I also have sales experience. I currently dont have the time to go back to college and wont for 3 to 4 years. However I cant seem to get promoted even though I have sales, prospecting, and interpersonal Communication skills. It's also frustrating due to the fact I can explain Quantum computing/Entanglement, AI, political science, differentiating factors involved in solar, vapor, hydro, wind, fusion, fussion energies, have an in depth knowledge of history, finance, and general business. I spend hours studying just because I love to learn and challenge myself but I cant move forward in any job. How can I overcome this?

I've applied to dozens of jobs and even called to see if companies are hiring or to check on some applications. They all say to just apply online and wait for a response. I'm in school to be a patient care technician. I have my phlebotomy and EKG certifications. I'm trying to get some experience in phlebotomy or EKG but I have no luck. I've applied everywhere
